Sore muscles

Sore muscles are a typical symptom of too much strain. Overwork leads to the formation of lactic acid in the muscles; this in turn causes hyperacidity and a light degree of pain in the area affected. Unfortunately, this condition also makes the sufferer more susceptible to injury – strains, torn muscles and ligament injuries are frequently the result.

In such a situation, it is necessary to reduce the stress placed on the muscles (in cases where physical activity has overtaxed them) and to neutralise the acids.

Alkaline powder (1 tsp in ¼ litre water) taken before or at the latest immediately after physical activity helps.  Magnesium is also beneficial as it relaxes the muscles. If the sufferer is injured, homeopathic remedies such as Arnica and Traumeel are very helpful as well as alkaline powder. A Medi-Tape bandage also promotes and accelerates healing.

You should also always carry Rescue liniment in your sports bag for emergencies. This is the first and most important first aid treatment for all kinds of injuries.
